About our staff

Dr. Christina Mercer

Dr. Mercer studied at Memorial University in Newfoundland and completed her residency at Dalhousie University.

She thoroughly enjoys teaching medical students and residents by shaping the minds of the future of medicine. 

Her favourite thing about the Berwick Family Practice is the team that works there and the camaraderie they all share.

 

Dr. Carly McLellan

Dr. McLellan studied at Dalhousie University. 

 

She enjoys working at the Berwick Family Practice because of the community and the great colleagues she works with.

Dr. Judith Puetz

Dr. Puetz studied at the University of Ottawa for their undergraduate degree and medical school. 

 

She thoroughly enjoys General family medicine, following families from birth to end of life (and all that lies between).

 

The collegiality and combined medical experiences of all physicians is her favorite part of the Berwick Family Practice. "It allows me to provide better care for my patients, compared to if I was practicing solo," she says.

 

Dr. Caroline Evans

Dr. Evans completed her undergraduate degree at Acadia University and her medical degree at Dalhousie University. 

She enjoys wound care, methadone clinics, and hospitalist work. 

The friendly staff are the reason why she chose and loves the Berwick Family Practice Group.

Dr. Corinne Dewar

Dr. Dewar studied at St. FX University for her undergraduate degree in Biology and then studied at Dalhousie University for Medical School and Residencies (FM & EM) She enjoys family medicine and emergency medicine.

 

Her favorite thing about the Berwick Family Practice is the people she works with on a daily basis.

 

Dr. Jennifer Gillis

Dr. Gillis studied Biochemistry and Psychology at Dalhousie University, and has also completed her MHA and MD. She enjoys emergency medicine, with a focus in chronic pain and addiction.

 

Her favorite thing about the Berwick Family Practice is the people she works with...a great group of clinicians and staff, and the patients are "absolutely lovely!"

 

Dr. Robin Bustin

Dr. Bustin studied at Acadia University, and went to Medical School at Dalhousie University. His specialties are addiction and geriatrics...he has a Certificate of Added Competence in the Care of the Elderly from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

His favorite thing about the Berwick Family Practice is working in close collaboration with other physicians, resident physicians, and a nurse practitioner.

 

Jacinta Harvey, Nurse Practitioner

Jacinta got her BSc. in Nursing from St. FX, and worked in various roles as a RN for 25 years before returning to university, graduating in 2004 from Dalhousie University as a Nurse Practitioner. She has an interest in women and childrens health, as well as the prevention and care of pressure injuries. Along with Dr. Bustin, she leads the wound care team at Grand View Manor.

His favorite thing about the Berwick Family Practice is looking after patients through their full life cycle, and being able to share and consult with a variety of clinicians. She likes being able to learn something new all the time, and seeing the same in her colleagues.
